As you say, the key to improve this situation is to talk about it. But, I think that if you don't include people who have racist thoughts or tendencies, not much progress will happen. We have to understand why they act the way they act and say what they say to be able to come to a real solution. It's easier to know what to do to change their behaviour if you know why they behave that way.

Hey Francisco! I don't think the piece states otherwise. I understand where you are coming from, but I also think that today's world, the access to information, the amount of public discussion about the topic, and more factors leave little to no room for any potential justification for motives behind racist acts. Especially by people in public and influential positions (which is what I focused on here).

While addressing racist tendencies is part of the solution, I believe that the focus needs to be on timely supporting those who are affected by racism and actively working toward inclusive and just environments for all.

We need both accountability and understanding, but also to prioritize listening to the voices and experiences of those who face racism every day. This way, we can create real transformation, rather than simply accommodating or justifying harmful behaviors.
